授業の目的（科目のねらい）

Students will:
• enhance their ability to successfully communicate in English and actively discuss new topics
• learn and practice useful phrases to negotiate meaning and facilitate interaction
• expand their vocabulary by approximately 100 words and idioms

科目の位置付け：語学系専門科目
この科目は学位授与方針（ディプロマ・ポリシー）の薬学科④、生命創薬科学科①に関連する。

教育内容

In this course, students will develop English comprehension and speaking skills through exposure to short essays and by having discussions on topics chosen in class and related to the essay topics.
Each essay has approximately 450 words that describe personal opinions and/or studies on a psychological or sociological topic.

学習の到達目標

A: Students will learn and practice useful phrases to negotiate meaning and facilitate interaction
B: Students will enhance their abilities to successfully communicate in English and actively discuss new topics.
C: Students will expand their vocabulary by approximately 100 words and idioms.

教育方法

One topic/essay will be covered in each class. Students will:
• actively use spoken English in pair activities, group discussions, and presentations to express opinions on class topics
• apply vocabulary and expressions related to class topics
• practice critical thinking based on spoken communication

Feedback will be given verbally and/or in writing according to the assignment.
